Creative Power
Art, storytelling, design, and imagination — the energy that drives culture and innovation. Where expression meets impact.
Rulanda exists for the people too often missing from the conversations that shape their futures — young creators, emerging entrepreneurs, and the communities they belong to.
Rulanda is a modern, community-centered platform empowering young people, creators, and underserved communities through creativity, technology, and opportunity. We bring together education, digital tools, and real-world experiences to help people build skills, launch ideas, and create pathways forward.
Our work connects youth leadership, creative development, technology access, entrepreneurship, and community revitalization into one unified ecosystem designed for the future.
We are not a single program. We are a long-horizon model for how access becomes skill, how skill becomes opportunity, and how opportunity becomes transformation — for individuals and for whole communities.
We design every program around the people who have been historically locked out — not the easiest audience to reach.
Participants build, ship, and produce using the same tools used in industry — not watered-down classroom equivalents.
Our goal isn't to create good employees of someone else's future — it's to help communities own a stake in it.
Programs are co-designed with the communities they serve. Lived experience drives the curriculum, not the other way around.
We resist the pressure of short-cycle metrics. The work that matters most takes years, not quarters.
Creativity isn't a department — it's the connective tissue between technology, opportunity, and the lives we serve.
Together, these three forces drive transformation in the communities Rulanda serves. They are the interlocking gears of access, agency, and capability — each amplifying the others.
Art, storytelling, design, and imagination — the energy that drives culture and innovation. Where expression meets impact.
Skills, mentorship, and real-world pathways that unlock growth and upward mobility for individuals and whole communities.
Tools, platforms, and systems that amplify what people can build and become — from AI to creative production environments.
Jalil Muhammad is the co-founder and executive director of Rulanda, a community-driven platform focused on expanding access to opportunity through technology, creativity, and real-world skill development.
He is an alumnus of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses and a rising leader within Leadership Greater Washington, where he has engaged with cross-sector leaders on initiatives related to economic mobility, workforce development, and community impact.
Jalil's work is shaped by years of international experience, including time spent living in West Africa and South America. During this time, he developed a strong connection to agriculture, sustainable living, and community-based economic systems — experiences that continue to inform Rulanda's long-term vision around food systems, land use, and self-sustaining communities.
His broader efforts include humanitarian work and community-focused initiatives aimed at creating pathways for underserved populations, including youth and emerging entrepreneurs.
Through Rulanda, Jalil is building an ecosystem that integrates creative expression, digital infrastructure, and economic opportunity — designed to help individuals and communities move from participation to ownership in the modern economy.
